He has zero homers thus far in August, which makes sense since has has zero homers since July 8th, although his slugging is north of .400 in August, which is a nice change of pace. If you picked up Chase Utley for the second half, you're already a million dollars richer (figuratively) than if you stuck it out with Uggo.
It's not out of the realm of possibility for him to bump up his stats at the end of the year to lure in suckers to draft him next year, but when Dustin Ackley outperforms you in July, I'm not sure I want to waste my 2B spot on hope and dreams.
He's definitely been utter shizz the past two months... I'm a Braves fan that watches probably close to 90% of the games each season so I've seen his ridiculous K's and pop outs first hand. I have him benched in the two leagues in which I have him, but I'm not dropping him unless he stinks it up through half of August and so far he's hitting a manageable .273 with 5 RBI in 6 games. That's not great, but it's a sign that he might be coming around.
I'm pretty sure that even I could have outperformed Uggla in July and I haven't done anything but coach high school and play in a city league since I got out of high school myself 7 years ago. It's just hard to sit through such an atrocious month and then drop him when he might be coming around. Might be... There has to be a reward coming for those who haven't already dumped him, right?
