SNKY: shake that tail! Dempster 5 games running 0 ER. The 4 ER to STL was early. He is the best pitcher in MLB right now. Wind in @11mph. STREAM!

Pestano easily makes that cut. Just that somebody else in our league has been getting all that you have. Will add him to the top.

Ah, screw it. I'll start him. I'd be angrier at myself for having him pitch well on my bench than allow 5 ER while active.

Haven't seen much regarding Ben Sheets tomorrow @WAS. Not much data on Sheets (32% owned and rising quickly) other than his last start vs NYM (6 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 22% O-swing%)...

WIND:

In from 1st base @ 7 mph

Opponent (WAS) OPS:

21st at home
13th at night
15th vs RHP

I'm going to watch him start this one and evaluate further, just thought folks who were considering streaming him might want to look at those numbers...

me too watching. 23.5% o-Swing%, but tiny sample size, could mean anything.

How about Scott Diamond tomorrow at KC?

1 start vs KC this year: W, 8 IP, 2 ER, 8 base runners. Doesn't look like he's ever pitched at KC before, but his away ERA this season is 3.26. O-Swing % = 32.2. SIERA = 3.60.

KC ranks 22nd in OPS vs lefties, though 14th in OPS at home.

Jason Vargas @ Tampa

Park- 26th- GREEN

Pitcher-
-2.17 ERA over last 29 IP
-no heads up this year
-shitty road ERA of over 5 but 10 earned in 4 innings at Arizona didn't help
-BAD Siera of over 5 and o-swing at 29% over 30 days

Opponent:
Tampa in bottom 3 in home OPS AND vs. LHP

Great opponent, great park, hot pitcher. Awful road ERA and bad Siera. Help!

I saw him (Vargas) and said no go. He's a Marginer who's only really useful at home vs crappy teams

weselm: think I am a little gunshy. BAL was #27/#12 facing diamond @MIN. He garnered 3K and gave up 5 ER in that one. Camden a better hitters' park than Target. don't see enough gain for the risk.

re: Vargas. agree with knighttown.

Didn't get off to a great start for the week with Dempster's first inning setting the stage.

At least we laid off estrada and pomeranz (7 ER in 3 IP, yikes).

Estrada wasnt that bad... 7 IP, QS. Would have liked to see more Ks but this week I've already punted the ratios, just trying to accumulate (would have been nice if Mil could score some runs).

Watching Cook blow another save is no fun, especially vs the Yanks, ESP at home, ESP ESP since it was Cano and not Grandy or Swisher with the dinger... Bah.

What do you think of these options tomorrow:
Cobb vs SEA
Zambrani @ PIT
Villanueva @ BOS

Normally I'd always sit a streamer at Fenway but this one might be attractive..

cobb: SEA ranks #10 on the road (yes th #30 vs. righties tempting). last 30 days cobb with: 6.75/1.81. 4.55 siera (poor). if aSEA maybe a different story. SIT

zambrano: last 30 days: 5.02/1.81. Has a good away 3.06 era which should hold up well against pit, #25/#23. he COULD do fine. your call. I simply can't recommend a SP who has given up 57 BB in 106 IP. SIT.

Villanueva: has been pitching pretty much sterling. (did survive 5 BB in his last vs. CLE). I just would not run anybody @BOS. Fenway ranks #4 in runs scored. SIT

One metric I like to look at if I'm on the fence: WWVD (What Would Vegas Do?)
Vegas consensus has Cobb and TB -150/130 over the Ms, which is pretty strong. The other two are slight dogs.

Like you said Sea can't hit righties. So I think I'm going to roll the dice and stream Cobb, we shall see whappen...

All I care about is Ws, QS and Ks. I'm already dead in ratios so I don't care if a guy blows up, but if they have a chance to give me an accumulator this week, I'm in.
