I go first.

After holding Paul Goldschmidt through his struggles last year, and then watching him hit .209 with 1 HR for me through May 10 this year (while K'ing in about 1/3 of his ABs), I finally let him go on May 11 to pick up Brandon Belt.

On May 11, he went 3/4 with a HR and 2 RBI.

Since then, he's hit close to .360 (if not more) with 7 more HR.

And, of course... Another team in my league that is above me in the standings picked Goldschmidt up as soon as he cleared waivers.

Matt Latos
After he gave up 7 runs to Cleveland on June 18th, I posted to these forums that I was done letting him poo all over my ratios. I dropped him and didn't look back until yesterday. That's when I learned that in his three starts since I dropped him, he's pitched 25 innings, allowed 14 baserunners (.56 WHIP), 2 runs (.72 ERA), banked 2 W's and K'd 28. As it is, my Active Stat line for Latos left me w/and ERA of 5.20 and a 1.41 WHIP. If I had started Latos for his next three, my numbers for him would be 4.12 and 1.20.

Needless to say, some other vulture in my league (who's above me in the standings) picked Latos up and started him in his last two starts.

Traded JJ hardy and Jay Bruce for Tulowitzki with a guy named buster. My brother's in the league as well, somebody asked him "did your brother kill buster?". Anyway, thought it was a steal. Tulo proceeds to hit .260 for a month with no power. He did carry my team for 2 weeks, then immediately hit the DL and is now out.

Also, spent $43 out of my $300 on Jacoby ellsbury.

I drafted some good players who were busts. Then I dropped them. Then they got good again.

I drafted Tiexiera, reluctantly. So I managed to swing a trade for AGon when both were slumping. Well, AGon is still slumping....

I've got a few that have devastated my team..

Drafted both Tulo and Longoria. Made a trade, which I thought was an amazing buy-low on Halladay, to see him get injured. Threw Latos to the wire after that blowup, someone scooped him up right after. Lastly, I dealt McCutchen to get Michael Young, Lawrie, and Nelson Cruz to fill holes which hasn't quite panned out..

Luckily, I did get Latos back but no one wants to deal for Tulo/Eva.

Dropped Rasmus back before he figured it out. He had 2 HR's and his OBP was contributing to my last place standing in the category. Shortly afterwards he got hot and goes into the break with 17 HR's and 50+ RBI's. Also streamed Capuano for a couple of starts early on then dropped him before a tough matchup and someone else has gotten the remainer of his good starts. Did drop Latos also after the blowup but was able to pick him back up and get 2 of the 3 good recent starts.

AL only.

Keepers going into the season: Mariano Rivera, Andrew Bailey, David Robertson, Adrian Gonzalez, Evan Longoria, Jhonny Peralta, Coco Crisp, and Reimold. About $150 of my $260 budget. Dropped a $4 Rafael Soriano - what were the chances HE was going to be closing in 2012?

Kept a few decent performers - Jered Weaver, Hellickson, Colby Lewis, and Willingham.

At the draft - thought I stole Brandon Allen, Kurt Suzuki, and Luke Hochevar. Was psyched to get Josh Donaldson as my second catcher.

Led the league for three weeks. I'm hoping to finish better than 8th place.

I didn't draft any closers, so have skimmed the wire hard since. Got Aceves before his first game, which sort of set the tone. Then got Hector Santiago before his first blowup. Then Brad Lidge. Then traded Ethier and Heyward for a package that included Sergio Santos, who proceeded to go down and hog a DL spot for over a month. Of course, I immediately nabbed Coco Cordero and just missed getting Janssen after Coco crisped my ratios (without any saves). I traded Santiago in a package that returned Jordan Walden, who supposedly was temporarily demoted...anyway, I got rid of Santiago. Then I replaced Santiago with Thornton and Reed several times. I was fortunate enough to have missed Reed's worst blowup, but missed owning him afterwards, too. There might be more to whine about, but the rest is kind of a blur.
