currently sitting in 3rd/4th with about 80 points, about 20 points behind 1st/2nd.

leading the league in HR and K, to make Grey happy.

pretty weak in SB/AVG/OPS/W.

middle of the road in the rest.

1st and 2nd are ahead of me in R and RBI, so if I gain points there, it's to their detriment. But I'm not confident I can catch them there based on the players available to me.

It looks like the shortest path to more points are in the OPS and SB category, but few players can get me both of those. (Ellsbury will.)

I just added Hughes and Nova for Ws, hopefully without too much hurt on my WHIP. And one day C Lee should get a W.

Two teams have basically quit already, so the free agent pool is deep:

R. Weeks, J. Weeks, B. Roberts, R. Roberts, A. Ramirez, Fowler, Francouer, Rasmus, Viciedo, Delmon, Espinosa, J.D. Martinez, Headley, Smoak, Scutaro, Beckham, Venable, Saunders, Campana, Colvin, Rosario, Aoki.

Scherzer, Worley, Parker, Samardjza, Doubront, Medlen, McCarthy

I've gained a lot of points in recent weeks, but seem to have plateaued. Obviously Ellsubry coming back should help, as could Markakis and Ross. (Actually, is Markakis any good?)

Right now my only strategy is to stream 2-3 positions a week based on who's hot and matchups, and hope that at least keeps me in 3rd. Anybody see any viable strategies for catching 2nd or 1st?

Tx

I don't see how Markakis and Ross are gonna help you if they don't come off the DL smoking hot... You need to be playing hot bats as you have to have any chance in this league...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
