I own Hanley & Stanton as my 2nd/3rd round picks and that park scares the bejezus out of me. Giancarlo hit 2 drives last night that would have been out of almost any ballpark. The one to right center he even admired for a moment showing he thought it was gone too. The biggest problem is that neither ball even made the warning track.

Yup. I wanted marlins and ended up with none. Luckily the play 81 games at the other parks. Good for heath bell though! Expect the fences tweaked next year

Yep, at least I have Anibal Sanchez to hedge my bets. I hope he gets his fair share of home starts.
Berkman was blasting the ballpark last night too. He said it plays HUMONGOUS! I might have to get me some shares of Nolasco & Zambrano this year afterall. Nolasco is more prone to FB & HR/FB so I would start there. Oh yeah, and it helps he isn't overtly crazy.

Wasn't there a high school game in the park last month where a couple of kids hit homers? I could have sworn I read about that somewhere. Either way, I'm not pleased with having Stanton in a money league after what I saw last night. Maybe it will be better when the roof is closed and the windows are shut? It looked like the ball was getting caught up in a breeze blowing straight in from center last night.

It boggles the mind that these idiots continue building ballparks that are too f/king big. How many parks have had to alter the dimensions within years of building the damn building? Stanton's two "drives" were basically monster pop-ups. Did you see the hang time on those things?? Once he starts squaring up the ball he'll be fine.

It's a long season man! But you bring up a good subject. Don't worry about Stanton, but do find owners who get frustrated with good players who start slow. 3 weeks in sounds about right.

I'm with you. I have Giancarlo in a keeper league for cheap (one of my building blocks) and watching the highlights of that game is giving me pause.

While it IS a very very very small sample size and G's been up and down recently with injuries, it is something to pay attention to in the coming weeks.
