I am so bored

Postby aethomp1 » Sat Dec 08, 2012 4:27 pm

The off season is too long. Let's get a little chatter going.
1) So far, what has been the best off season move, for both real and fantasy baseball?
2) And what's going on with the wbc? Is there a league in any site for that?
For 1, I think that brandon mccarthy going to the dbacks is going to be good for him, and for his leadership to the young rotation. Fantasy, meh. I'm not sure there has beem a good one yet. Maybe bj to the braves.

Also, I think David Ross going to the red socks, not so much for numbers or anything, is going to be great for them. He can work the staff very well and he will be able to guide whichever of c they keep around

Upton doesn't change in his new uniform... I don't think anyone really changes much... Young going to Phils could be good for Olt...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Greinke to the Dodgers helps his value a bit, IMHO. He will pitch at Chavez Ravine (a good pitchers' park) without having to be the #1. He gets to go to SF and SD a fair bit as well.

BJ to the Braves helps, but until the Braves get a leadoff guy, the jury's still out on where he'll hit. His value is a push, IMHO.

I like Young to the Phillies for Profar, actually. I could see Kinsler at 1B (Moreland at DH mostly), allowing Profar to play 2B. Obviously Olt will see some time, but I'm not convinced he doesn't get traded for pitching (Hellickson?).

Somewhat under the radar move I like the most: Victorino in Boston. His D is pretty awful, but the green monster's going to help him A LOT.

Overrated move: Toronto mega-deal. JJ'll probably be successful the first time through, but I can see him getting shelled as teams figure him out (unless his velocity returns). Reyes' in Toronto is just a recipe for a long DL stint. Playing on that turf is going to hurt those legs of his.

The Mets not bringing back Mike Pelfrey is a pretty big deal.
