Some background first:

I lost Andre Johnson yesterday for awhile at least. Witten is on a bye next week. Both my QB's are on a bye in Week 7.

So do I use my waiver claim on Jared Cook? IF I dont I would expect Ed Dickson, Kevin Boss, Scheffler and Heath Miller to be available after the waivers go through.

As far as FA Wr's go, there aint much:
M. Williams (SEA)
Titus Young
Kevin Walter
Heyward-Bey
Josh Morgan

Maybe I hope that a bench WR of mine can fill in somewhat while Andre gets healthy?

FA QB's worth thinking about for bye week replacement = Tarvaris Jackson (may have to trade Fitzpatrickwhile keeping a viable backup for Vick)

So, use my waiver claim or save it? Use it on Cook and hope to trade him at some point later this year. Use it on a WR and hope he and/or my bench guys are serviceable while I wait on Andres hammy?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

None of those guys seems like a must-use-a-#1-waiver kind of guy, but in this situation i'd use it on Cook. If Dickson didn't have a bye this week i'd probably just wait and grab him after waivers clear, but since you need a TE this week Cook looks like the best option. He really only had the one big play yesterday, but it was a big one, and with Britt out he should see more targets going forward.

Those WRs all seem like crapshoots as far as what to expect on a given week. I wouldn't want to have to put too much trust in any of them, but i guess Young has the most upside based on the offense he plays in. The good news is the Texans don't think AJ is seriously injured, so it looks like you'll only need temporary help.

I think Fitzpatrick is a good sell candidate. He's been playing okay, but he doesn't have a really strong arm and last year he had a few clunkers down the stretch. If you can fill some other needs with him, i'd do it and would feel somewhat comfortable having Jackson as a backup.
