I'm trying to swing a trade for Fitzgerald before he goes off and is too far out of reach. I'm struggling however, with the actual value of Steve Smith of the NY football Giants. On one hand, he's been fantastic thus far and produces every week. On the other, no one seems to think he will keep it up and this seems to severely underrate his value.

Point being, the other team wants my Steve Smith AND Pierre Thomas for Fitz and I think that's just too much, as smith has put up serious numbers thus far and Thomas has the potential to win matchups for me every week in that potent Saints offense.

Am I OVER-rating Smith here? Is it possible to get decent value in return for him? Or should I just hang on to him and enjoy the production every week?

Smith is definitely an interesting case. In the one league that I have him, I'm asking for a king's ransom in return from interested parties (although this is partially due to the fact that I'm thin at WR and it's a PPR league). In another league that I do not own him but I've inquired about his availability, I'm unwilling to part with major pieces and trying to put together a poo-poo platter of RB2/WR2/Flex-level players.

I think he's established himself as Eli's #1 target in NY--without question--and I'd hold. Smith and PT is way way way too much to give for Fitz, IMO. Smith to Fitz is not a big enough upgrade to give up PT, who I think will be a top 10 RB for the rest of the year in that offense (my only worry is his health).

Smith doesn't look like he will slow down a ton. It will be hard for him to keep his pace though. I think PT for Fitz is about right. Not both.

In my league Steve Smith was god.
