I'm in a league that uses blind bidding for waiver acquisitions, and I have no experience with this system. I was just hoping for some general strategy advise about how to spend my free agent budget. Is it better to spend most of it at the beginning of the season to acquire a potential breakout player or save it for waiver acquisitions to play match-ups at the end of the season? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

If you need the player, go for it. If they are just for the bench, and may have no future impact, I'd hold out a bit until you see a player dropped that you immediately need.
