After the draft, I thought I could challenge for the title in this league. sparkasse bio-cornflakes finished first, 54th overall (101.29 pts). Turned out to be one of the weakest leagues, but still too good for me.

My Draft: 8th pick
[Razzball Player rater]
Stats shown are from active lineup.
8 Joey Votto [183] 123/368 (.334) 57/14/56/5 - I was happy when Votto fell to me; in 77% of RCL drafts he was taken earlier. Good numbers before his injury (hitting .342 and on pace for 27 home runs).
17 Hanley Ramirez [49] 153/599 (.255) 79/24/92/20 - Low average and runs, but not terrible.
32 Jay Bruce [44] 138/551 (.250) 88/34/97/9 - He was 3/9 with a run and 2 RBI when I benched him, so Grey's projections (.270/90/34/100/10) were pretty much right on, other than average. I took him at #25 in my previous RCL draft.
41 Nelson Cruz [99] 150/580 (.259) 85/24/89/8 - Another "not terrible," but I don't think I will draft him again.
56 Elvis Andrus [134] 176/605 (.291) 83/3/61/21 - Fewer steals than I was hoping for.
65 Madison Bumgarner [32] 142.2 IP/130 K/11 Wins/3.09/1.05 - My first pick whose numbers are better than his draft position. Traded* on August 1.
80 Howard Kendrick [208] 98/352 (.278) 37/5/35/8 - I picked Howie at #48 in my previous RCL draft, so was happy to get him here. Traded* on August 1.
89 Chris Young [564] 23/97 (.237) 12/5/13/2 I vaguely remember a great start.
104 Mark Reynolds [342] 21/105 (.200) 10/5/15/0
113 Gio Gonzalez [10] 124 IP/137 K/13 Wins/3.27/1.14 - Probably my best pick. Hard to believe he was still available. Traded* on August 1.
128 Buster Posey [27] 178/528 (.337) 78/24 HR/102/1 - Another surprise. His ADP was 107.
137 Alex Rios [18] 151/508 (.297) 80/22/81/20 - After the disastrous 7-9 picks, 10-12 were pretty good. 3 top 30 players.
152 Colby Rasmus [229] 71/294 (.241) 40/13/46/2 - I was once again expecting big things from Colby; maybe next year. He turns 27 next August, I'll probably try again if he's available in the 17th round.
161 Ike Davis [131] 18/127 (.142) 10/4/16/0 - I dropped him May 18, added him for the last couple weeks in June. After I dropped him again, he hit .249 with 21 HRs. 32 HR/90 RBI total.
176 Carlos Marmol [236] 8.2 IP/8 K/2 Saves/6.23/2.31
185 Kyle Farnsworth [549] Dropped April 23
200 Frank Francisco [353] 29 IP/31 K/1 Win/18 Saves/4.97/1.59
209 Grant Balfour [124] 37.2 IP/36 K/1 Win/16 Saves/3.82/1.06 - dropped and added several times.
36 saves from these 4. With high ratios. I should quit drafting closers.
224 Carlos Quentin [475] Drafted to stash on DL; dropped after a couple of weeks to place Farnsworth on the DL.
233 Jhoulys Chacin [755] 23.1 IP/22 K/0 Wins/5.01/1.76
248 Danny Valencia [] 9/34 (.265) 6/0/3/0 - Dropped April 18
257 David Robertson [291] 18.2 IP/30 K/1 Save/1.93/1.13
272 Sergio Romo [157] 5.0 IP/4 K/1 Win/0.00/1.40
281 Vinnie Pestano [252] 2.0 IP/1 K/0.00/1.00 - Once again, I drafted MRs to help my ratios, but I kept dropping them for any free agent that came along.
296 Jonathon Niese [101] Finished off with a nice pick. Dropped him for Juan Francisco April 2.
I was actually happy with this draft at the time.
167 of 273 HRs (61.2%) came from the draft/trade.
94 of 155 SBs (60.6 %) came from the draft/trade.
37 of 146 saves (25.3%) came from the draft.
25 of 99 wins (25.3 %) came from the draft/trade.
*The Trade: I sent Gio, Bumgarner, Kendrick, and Bryce Harper to CYBORG PIRATE NINJA JESUS for Robinson Cano, Wade Miley, Michael Brantley, and Jon Lester. I had offered Gio, Bumgarner, Kendrick, and Brennan Boesch for Cano, since I figured I could do just as well streaming pitchers. He replaced Boesch with Harper, which was fine with me since Harper had hit .211 with 1 HR in the last month. What prompted this deal was the June - July numbers I got from Gio. After a great 2 months, he put up a 4.48 ERA and 1.33 WHIP for the next 2 months. I thought Cano could have an amazing couple of months and move me up the standings.
Kendrick: .303/20/3/32/6 for CPNJ.
Cano: .318/39/10/36/2 for me.
Gio: 6 Wins/2.47/1.10 for CPNJ.
Bum: 5 Wins/3.97/1.23 for CPNJ.
Harper: .288/33/8/17/5 for CPNJ.
Brantley: 11/37 (.297) 3/0/4/1 for me.
Lester: 7.0 IP/3 K/0 Wins/5.14/1.57 for me.
Miley: 31.1 IP/19 K/2 Wins/2.30/1.18
Kendrick, Gio, and Harper all put up better numbers the last 2 months than they had been giving me, so it was a pretty good trade for CPNJ. But he lost 3 points while I gained 15 and moved from 4th to 2nd, so I can't complain.
My ratios were 3.48/1.16 the final 2 months, compared to a pitiful 3.85/1.28 before.
So, while not really a good trade for me, Cano did gain me a few points, and I was able to find decent free agent pitchers.
