RCL Overall Stats

Postby A Hill O' Beans » Mon Aug 12, 2013 10:07 am

Hey Vin,

I know you have a site which has all the RCL stats. I've used it before and you've got links to it, http://vinreich.webs.com/Stats.html, here in the forums. When I go there though all I see is a list of players and how many leagues they're owned in. Am I missing something?

Tabs should appear at the bottom for league and team stats.

Thank you!

I had my browser open to about 95% of my screen size, so basically the only thing hidden was the tabs at the bottom. It's always something stupid isn't it? Thanks Vin.

This is why I was looking for it. I was kind of curious who was making the most out of their GS. So this is the top 10 for IP/GS (minimum 100 GS). It sort of overlooks whether they were successful at it or not, but generally speaking I think if you do well in this category it most likely isn't going to hurt you anywhere. You should either be getting help from RP (who usually have good ratios, or starters who go deep in games which should mean they have good stats).

Interestingly (or not) this list of 10 teams includes the #1, #12, #13 and #21 teams from the overall RCL standings, and only 1 team outside the top 210 teams (#323).

Yeah, IP/GS is an important ratio in the RCL. I see 2 teams from You Down With PEDS, where I used only RPs in the past week since I'm way ahead on starts. My ERA was over 7 and WHIP was 1.75. So, I'm just as bad choosing RP as I am SP.

Thanks for sharing. I will be updating that page today. Maybe I'll add IP/GS.

Hey Vin. I was just doing some digging with the numbers and was curious about the correlation between IP/GS (for pitching) and AB (for hitting) to overall RCL Ranking. Basically does getting as high a total for each of these, which is basically something that can be controlled for the most part, equate to RCL success?

Some of the more impressive numbers include the number of the top RCL ranked teams that are either top 100 in ABs or top 100 in IP/GS. 85% of the RCL top 20 are either top 100 in AB or IP/GS.

Also, just getting the top 100 in either of those things would have given you a 25% chance of being in the top 60 RCL overall rankings. Getting top 100 in both of them would have given you a more than 50% chance of being in the top 60 RCL overall rankings.

I can't control if my starters can't last 5 innings.

True, but, you can control getting "free" innings from relievers. I mean, if you've got 7/8 relievers in your lineup everyday than it doesn't really matter if your starters only go 5 innings. Although, avoiding rookie starters tends to help limit those 5 inning starts too. :)

Oh, I know, it is the best strategy in the RCL, but like any strategy you still have to make good decisions. I had 8 or 9 RPs in my lineup every day last week and they gave up 13 runs in 16 IP.
