More Disappointing: Hitters or Pitchers?

Postby VinWins » Tue Nov 01, 2011 8:30 pm

The following tables show Grey's preseason top 20 hitters and top 25 pitchers (top 20 starters) and their final rank according to ESPN. I also included the average draft position in both all ESPN leagues and the RCLs.

Major disappointments:

Hitters: Hanley, Wright, Zimmerman, A-Rod, and Crawford.
Pitchers: Liriano, Johnson, Jiminez, Oswalt.

Johnson, of course, was injured, so at least he wasn't putting up bad numbers.

Scherzer, Longoria and Holliday would also be considered disappointments, I think. Others fell short in certain categories, but still provided good value.

So it's about equal between hitters and pitchers when it comes to disappointments. Wouldn't say Holliday and Longoria were the biggest of disappointments either. They weren't Wright or Zimmerman, at least.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Liriano was beyond disappointment. Disappointment is drafting a #1 pitcher and getting a 4 ERA and 150 Ks.

Drafting Liriano is like choosing door #2 when door #1 had a million dollars and door #2 murders your children in front of your eyes.
I like sports with balls in them.
