I have the 10th pick in a 20 team draft. 5x5 Scoring
My current line up is. 2B - Dustin Pedroia SS - Elvis Andrus 3B - Pablo Sandoval SP - Ubaldo Jimenez SP - Craig Billingsley
Which of these starting SP's would you select first, assuming they'll be there for me at #10 Wandy Rodriguez, Jake Peavy, John Lackey, Scott Baker. Thanks in advance

I've seen Grey's rankings. Thought he may have a different opinion considering I have 2 strike out pitchers.
Maybe even another option would be great.

I wasn't telling you to look at grey's rankings. I was saying I would take them in the order that he did in this case.
I don't trust any of them honestly, but baker has always made me nervous. Lackey in the AL east.. no thanks. Peavy could be good this year, but he wont be for any team I have. That just leaves wandy. Does everything you want well, maybe just a late-bloomer.
p.s. if you just want to know what Grey thinks you might as well address it to him.

mauledbypandas I really appreciate your input.
I'm leaning toward Baker (Curious to see what kind of field Target Stadium will be, hitters or pitchers park). I'm a Red Sox fan so I also like Lackey (AL East) with a great defense behind him might be good this year. I too don't like Peavy. Don't think Wandy will be there for me at 10.
And I didn't address it to Grey because I know he replies to all posts.

Well, I am a Rangers fan, so I know how good Lackey can be when he is on. That being said, he has been hurt a lot the last few years, so you never know what you will get from him. Maybe a new team, not as much pressure being the 3rd starter might be a recipe for success. I know Grey has him pretty low for a reason, but if I was a Sox fan, I think I would go with Lackey.
I would be worried the Baker of early 09 would show up, and he has never had an amazing K rate, though he doesn't walk all that many. Truth be told, despite what Grey says, I have been looking for Lackey after 125ish since he seems to have flown under the radar a little bit compared to past years.
I hear you about Grey, I was just being ornery. It's great to have a blog/time suck where the "proprietor" is so active.

Your not making this easy for me.... My draft is on Sunday and the guy I wanted to take D.Span will be drafted at #3 (saw the guy talking about it on cbox yesterday)
Would you recommend I take a position player and maybe get Lackey or another Sp with my next pick?
Johnny Damon Manny Ramirez Nate McLouth (terrible spring) Michael Bourn (SAGNOF) Carlos Gonzalez Michael Cuddyer

i'd want some power personally, you have some speed and pitching from your keepers.

Think I'm going to punt the HR category. Go with an Avg. R. SB team
CarGo looks good for my fist pick. 20/20 with a decent avg.

I hate to punt anything in a 5x5, maybe thats just me. Actually I regularly punt catcher if that counts, and sometimes saves.
I like CarGo, not sure I'm sold on him that early though.
But as to your dilemma, I would actually be looking for a WHIP anchor as well, but I am waiting to see what Grey says on this one.
