H-H 12 team league with snake draft....10th pick

Postby millman07 » Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:08 pm

This league has unique scoring which favors pitching......would you guys draft pitching 1st & 2nd rd. and then go to work filling out your team?

Head-to-Head, Points Based System.
Ties go to the team with better XBH.
Scoring based on total stats each period.
Ties in the standings are resolved in this order: Winning Percentage, Head to Head Record, Total Points.

Scoring for Batting Categories
1B - Singles 1 point
2B - Doubles 2 points
3B - Triples 3 points
BB - Walks (Batters) 1 point
CS - Caught Stealing -1 point
CYC - Hitting for the Cycle 10 points
E - Errors -1 point
GDP - Ground Into Double Plays -1 point
HP - Hit by Pitch 1 point
HR - Home Runs 4 points
KO - Strikeouts (Batter) -1 point
R - Runs 1 point
RBI - Runs Batted In 1 point
SB - Stolen Bases 2 points

Scoring for Pitching Categories
BBI - Walks Issued (Pitchers) -1 point
BS - Blown Saves -3 points
CG - Complete Games 10 points
ER - Earned Runs -1 point
HB - Hit Batsmen -1 point
HD - Holds 2 points
INN - Innings 1 point
K - Strikeouts (Pitcher) 1 point
L - Losses -3 points
NH - No-Hitters 10 points
PG - Perfect Games 10 points
QS - Quality Starts 2 points
S - Saves 3 points
SO - Shutouts 10 points
W - Wins 7 points
Special Scoring for Relief Pitchers
L - Losses -2 points
W - Wins 3 points

Considering my draft position I may go this route....may end up last...but I don't think so.

Appreciate all reponses pro and con.

I'd definitely want solid pitching, but I wouldn't draft pitching in the 1st and 2nd rounds. If Lincecum falls to the 10th pick, I could see taking him. Or if F-Her or Halladay or Greinke falls to your 2nd pick. But hitting is more predictable and you want to make sure you can win that.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
