Y! Friends and Family League

Postby jdooger » Mon Mar 22, 2010 5:46 am

Grey,

I see that you are participating in the Y! Friends and Family League this year. My apologies if you have already posted about this somewhere else.

I was actually kind of suprised, but excited, to see that you were in it. I guess its because i tend to think that you think a little more out of the box than those folks do. Are you friends/aquaintances with the Yahoo/Rotowire folks? How did you get in the league?

How do you think the draft went? You like your team?

I'll have a post about my team at some point this week.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

hey I noticed this too and had some questions. Hopefully you will address them in your post, but I'll ask just in case.

Comparing your actual picks to your preseason ranking list, you often jumped around a bit, ignoring who you had ranked.

Examples: (with your rankings in brackets)

Round 1: Kemp (8) over Cabrera (7)
Round 2: You took A. Gonzalez over Sizemore which makes sense given Kemp 1st
Round 3: F. Her (24) This made sense rankings wise but I thought you generally didn't take pitchers this early? Too much value?
Round 5: This one made no sense to me. Dunn (61) over Ethier (48), Adam Jones (56), Josh Hamilton (47)
Round 6: Again, no sense according to your rankings. Carlos Lee (67) over Adam Jones (56), Josh Hamilton (47), Torri Hunter (66)
Round 7: Josh Hamilton (finally)
Round 8: Nitpicking time. You draft Billingsley (95) over Wandy (94) and also over Peavy who I know you have ranked 107 overall, but you have put in your top 20 pitchers, wheras wandy and billingsley are past your top 20.

Thats all I had time to go over but damn Grey, if you can't even get it right, what chance do I have?

Peavy is in a tier titled 'Avoid'.
