I know, sounds insane. But hear me out.

My league scores Errors and my pitching staff sucks (see Roster Raves thread). Trade deadline is this coming Sunday, and Hanley makes enough errors for me to give this some thought.

I've noticed Rollins has been struggling lately, offensively. But his defense is ace. So I was thinking of offering the guy Hanley for Rollins+Hamels.

The million dollar question is whether this will pay out. If Rollins can match Hanley's output for the next 2 months and Hamels can pitch like he did earlier in the season, the trade will work out well. But that's the thing - will Rollins match production offensively, or should I not even bother?

I'd hold on to Hanley, but that's just me. Errors are only one category, right? HRs, RBI/runs/sb's/avg are the other ones and I'm not sure that losing those categories make up for two or three extra errors that Hanley gives you over Rollins.

so basically, there's no way Rollins will match Hanley's production from now until the end of September... righty-o, that answers my question.

IMO,If you get Hamels and Rollins I would do it, no doubt. The fact that errors counts is gravy....I would do it if it was standard scoring even.

I traded for Rollins last week for a lot less... his stock has fallen, and I'm beginning to wonder if his early season injuries have been nagging him. If you're trading away Hanley for Rollins and an overworked Hamels, you're making a mistake.
