Agree that I don't want Fukodome.
Here's what I've got in the OF.
Delmon Young RF/CF/LF
I wonder about offering him Granderson and Victorino for Rios and Duscherer.
Yeah, too much. Even though Curtis is hitting .238, I don't see that lasting all season. Again, like Rios, he end-of-the-year #s won't be what owners wanted, but he's still in a position, w/ great tools, to have some very nice production over the rest of the season.
Just a Sellers' Shot In The Dark: try offering Owings and Granderson for Duchscherer and Rios. I see Rios and Granderson of relative equal value, but you'd definitely be winning on the other side. The owner would be stupid to do it, but given how the negotiations have been going, maybe you can frame this as an upgraded offer. Maybe sell it by saying you can't afford to give up 2 hitters for 1 hitter and 1 pitcher. Then point out that Granderson has almost 3x as many HR as Rios in about 20 fewer games - and that Detroit's lineup is going to slump forever. If he's wary about the ERA difference between Owings and Duch, point out Owings' superior K rate. And here's the kicker: ESPN's June rankings have Owings at #178 overall, and Duch at #253 (!).
