This is partly inspired by the "2nd half pitchers" entry from this morning.....
I looked at all my pitchers and most of them appear to be 2nd half type of guys based on past performances (Lincy, Bills, Wain-o, Cain, and Nolasco are more than solid 2nd halfers it seems).
2006 was a long time ago, but Josh Johnson was a different pitcher in the 2nd half of that year. A 2.21 ERA in the first half and a 4.16 ERA in the 2nd half. What are your thoughts on Johnson breaking down this year?
I'm looking to improve in runs and SBs and will be targeting an OFer like BJ Upton. Johnson for Upton seem like a good offer? I would try and move Carlos Lee for a pitcher to make room for BJ. Lee for Hamels? Seems like a decent buy low attempt anyway.
That was his first full year in the majors, means very little.
