Still looking to add pitching...

Postby Frank Rizzo » Wed Jun 24, 2009 2:42 pm

I pulled off the trade giving away J Upton/M Reynolds/T Hanson for A Huff/T Lincecum last week. I'd still like to add some lower level, solid low ERA/WHIP pitching talent. With the addition of Huff now I'm thinking Blake may be expendable.

Would an offer of Casey Blake for Randy Wells be wise for my team? I know Wells is a rookie but look at his ERA/WHIP. It's good.

Blake needs to be traded and gone by the time Aramis comes back or I'm going to have a huge logjam at the 1b/3b position.

Wells isn't too risky, not worth it. Maybe Lowe's owner if they're worried about him? Maybe Meche?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

crap.....those guys are on teams that don't need 1b/3b help, nor will they sell a decent pitcher. Pitching is at a premium in this league, guy's are stocking their pitching staffs and going thin on offense because it's a 6 x 6 league with Quality Starts included.

This guy's 1b/3b are Helton, Beltre, and Lowell. He's hurting and would be willing to deal average pitching but he won't overpay for Blake.

His pitching staff is...
Ubaldo Jiménez
Vin Mazzaro
Andrew Miller
Zach Duke
Joakim Soria
Kevin Correia
Randy Wells
Wandy Rodríguez
Matt Cain
Chris Carpenter
Johnny Cueto
Cliff Lee
Clay Buchholz
DL Roy Halladay

He won't give Wandy, Cain, Carpentar, Lee, or Halladay. That leaves Wells, Cueto, and Jimenez as average/decent options. Cueto/Jimenez scare the piss out of me.

Should I just hold onto Blake or try to deal with this guy?

I think in two weeks Wells will scare you too. I'd take Cueto or Ubaldo, in that order.

Thanks for the help, and common sense. I offered him Blake for Cueto straight up.
