Kipnis Trade

Postby jitkis » Thu Jul 25, 2013 10:48 pm

12 team league. R, HR, RBI, net SB, AVG, OPS. 10 keepers. My team is out of contention this year, but I'm trying to build a serious contender for next season. Should I trade Kinsler and Profar for Kipnis? I have Segura as my SS keeper right now and am not sure how Profar fits into my plans (or if he's even gonna be all that great fantasy-wise), so I feel like I should take the 2B upgrade if I can...

Significant overpay, but sounds like it suits your needs
12-team, 10x9 H2H, NS + H, OPS, etc.; 20 MLB, 8 MiLB keepers
Cx2: Hundley/Castillo
1B/3B/CI: Goldschmidt/Arenado/Frazier
SS/2B/MI: Y. Escobar/Kinsler/Odor
LF/CF/RF/OFx2: Trout/Bryant/Yelich/Garcia/Tucker
UTILx2: Pujols/Votto
Bench: Espinosa, Refsnyder
SP: Hamels, Greinke, Shields, Samardzjia, A. Wood, Shoemaker, McCullers, Heaney, Erasmo, Cody Anderson
RP: Britton/Ziegler/Hoover/Caminero/Ramos
DL: Souza/Swihart/Paxton
Minors: Wall (COL), Norris (TOR), Ozuna (MIA), Conforto (NYM), Olson (OAK), Shipley (ARI), Tapia (COL), Snell (TB)

Grey, would you agree? do you think I'm really overpaying or is kipnis a significant enough keeper upgrade over kinsler?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Just go with who you like. . Sometimes that's what I do. That's what I love about fantasy sports sometimes you hit a hr and sometimes you stikeout. At the end of the day we are all a bunch of grown up kids acting like we are major league gm's lol

What I meant by an overpay but it suits you is that if it makes your keepers better, and you think that overall it won't make his team scary strong, then do it...sometimes you need to overpay to get the team makeup you want.

I personally think Kinsler is the lynchpin of the Rangers offence now and will have another year of 2B eligibility even if he gets moved out of the IF. He could potentially be really valuable next year if he's in the OF or at 1B, as that'd save his body a bit of wear and tear IMO.

Having said that, I would not be surprised in the slightest if Kipnis outproduced him next year, and you're dealing from a position of strength with Segura in the fold already.
