Gregg for Pierre

Postby IowaCubs » Thu May 28, 2009 11:57 am

The purest form of a SAGNOF trade, I was offered Kevin Gregg for Juan Pierre. I'm 8th in saves and 3rd in steals in a straight 5x5 roto 12 teamer. This league has a bunch of save whores, with many of the backups to closers flying off the wire as soon as Chad Qualls farts the wrong way. Anyway, it's very difficult to chase saves in this league, so trading is the best option.

Here's why I like this trade for me... 1) Manny's coming back soon, so I don't lose out on much more than 8 steals and 20 runs or so. 2) The Cubs still believe in Gregg for some reason... he pitched a very nice 9th yesterday, and I still trust that he'll get 25 more saves or so. Thoughts?

If need saves, that trade's fine for you. Really just a needs thing. Maybe you can get a bit more of a quality closer, but I'd still do it if you can't.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

It's a pretty anal, er, uh, smart league, so I doubt people are going to take the risk of trading for Pierre without knowing his PT situation. I'll seek other options anyway though, thanks.
