Frazier/Ryu for Fielder

Postby phorts » Sat Apr 20, 2013 3:55 pm

Fielder owner has him on the block. Thinking of throwing this out. I may have to thrown in a closer like Bailey but the WW is full of serviceable options (would pickup Marte and cishek). He may want Samardzija instead of ryu as well.

Frazier is on fire and I feel like I would be losing a little runs/SB for an uptick in Hr, RBi and avg.

Thoughts?

I'd do any of those moves.

You're getting Fielder very cheaply.

Frazier will come back down to earth and Ryu is an unknown quantity. Fielder, though, is a top-10 fantasy stud.

If you can, good luck.

So you wouldn't consider Frazier, Smardzija and Bailey for Fielder? I find that hard to believe. Will Frazier come back to earth? Probably at least a little but he's a more than serviceable option to replace fielder who is certainly not guaranteed top 10 production. Besides, he's the one who put Fielder on the block and said Ryu had to be in the deal.

He went all hitting and his sp is awful along with only one closer. I'll let you know how it goes!

It is worth a try. Fielder can put up mvp #1 in baseball kind of numbers. With the tigers lineup, he can maybe do it all year with only minor slumps or slumps that look like some players hot streaks.

I made similar offers and got rejected in one league.

I love fraizier, I have him on 3 of my teams, I also have Ryu so I get it, but I just don't see anyone giving up their best player less than three weeks in the year, especially one who has been playing exceptionally, for two or three guys who were drafted in the second half of the draft. Plus as you said yourself there are plenty of serviceable options on WW so he is probably aware of that fact too.

Look if you can make that trade I think it's great for you and you should I'm just trying to be realistic in my answer by saying I really can't see anyone who owns fielder being at all tempted by the trade.

Sorry I wrote only Ryu, but I would extend that to baily and Samardzija as well.

Very few owners will trade an established low to no risk #1 for anything less than that back.

Horrible deal to the guy giving up Fielder I doubt u could land him for that. Just because hes on the block doesn't mean the guy will give him away if u could pull off that trade the guy is really bad in fantasy.
