1B/OF for MI/SP.

Postby FillyP » Thu Apr 11, 2013 2:20 pm

I'm trying to do two things - upgrade MI and upgrade SP. I've got the following available:

Craig
Ike Davis
Willingham
Gordon

1) Craig for Gio? Not sure if the owner will bite, but he's flush with talent and needs CI. What are some other pitchers I should be targeting?

2) I want Utley, but the owner is not interested in trades. What MI should I target with someone like Gordon/Willingham? Ike's value is basically non-existent this time of year.. was hoping Willingham for Utley, but I don't think it'll happen.

I wish Ike had ANY value right now. My team is off to a pretty good start, so option # 3 is to just hold tight until Willingham/Ike gain value. Team is in sig below, thanks Razz Nation.

12 team
0.5 PPR + 6pts per Passing TD
Record: 2-4, 8th place

Why not trade Machado? With only 3 hitters to keep and you already having Upton, Fielder, Jones and Sandoval, i just don't see him making the cut. If someone would take him for an upgrade at CI, I think that will be your best bet. I just don't see Machado doing enough this year to warrant starting let alone a keeper spot next year.

I would look at that before I dealt Craig for Gio even though I like that deal for you. Just not sure the owner will accept.

Not a bad idea, just not sure how good of a hitter/pitcher I can expect for MM. I was recently offered Machado for Daniel Murphy, but didn't like it much. Should I have considered it?

Only reason to hold Machado is for Keeper. We can keep up to 3 hitters max (outside of the 1st two rounds) and the draft pick for next year is 2013 draft round (21st) + 2014 ESPN ADP divided by 2.

Going strictly by draft position, here are some SP taken around Machado by round -
18: Hughes*, Miley, Milone
19: Buchholz, Bauer
20: Cobb*, Nova, Myers
22: Cahill

*Same owner as Murphy

Oh, to reiterate - can't keep Fielder/Upton due to no keepers from first two rounds.

Pretty stumped as to who I could target at MI with Machado...

Well that changes things. MM might be a decent keeper if you get them in certain rounds. I don't think Murphy is a good choice.I think you just have to hang tight, more than likely you will find a usable option of the WW or those three guys will start to hit for you.
