I play in a 10 team 6x6 mixed daily transactions league. Player in my league has asked for pitching help and we are trying to make a deal. Has said Miggy is available.

I give: Votto, Gallardo
I get: M. Cabrera, M. Young

3 questions:
Is this a good deal to offer?
Is it fair?
Am i giving up too much too early in the season?

I would argue the difference in Cabrera and Votto is marginal (assuming no injuries). You're *almost* trading away Gallardo for Young, so my first instinct is no effin' way.

There are only two ways this trade goes through:

1) You want the best player in the trade. That would be Cabrera, but in this case Votto is only half a step behind so it's not like Miggy's the *clear* favorite. It's totally possible Votto ends up with a better season that Cabrera this year.

2) You're desperate for batting average. Looking at your team, that doesn't seem to be the case.

I think you might be jumping the gun a bit. I'd much rather have Votto + YoGa. Don't forget, YoGa always starts slow but you'll end up with 3.50/1.25 and a crapload of K's.

if by votto you mean ryan zimmerman it is fair and good. Michael young is just too much lower than the other players in this deal.

Thanks for the input and i agree. Some other discussions have been going back and forth. He has mentioned that he wants Gallardo in a deal. Thoughts on this option:

Give: Votto, Gallardo, Freese
Get: Cabrera, Ellsbury, Maholom

Good deal to offer?
Is this a fair deal to offer?
Is this too lopsided of a trade?

SB's have been slow on my end so far this season but I do question as it would make me an owner of a lot of Red Sox (Pedroia, Victorino, Lester and if this deal went down...Ellsbury)

Thoughts on this option?
