Fujikawa for Shelby Miller

You wanna trade who for who? Wow, that's awful/great/horrendous/beautiful/really terrible?

Fujikawa for Shelby Miller

Postby shin-soochoochoo » Tue Apr 02, 2013 12:20 pm

I've been offered Shelby Miller for Fujikawa, who I just picked up off waivers. I know I should pounce on this since Fujikawa hasn't even been anointed, but I have very little in the way of closers and I'd like to try and get some more out of this guy.

Should I...

A) Take the offer as is before he changes his mind.
B) Offer my Fujikawa and Shields for his Shelby and Frieri, who I could drop once Madson comes off the DL (though that sounds like a lopsided trade in his favor)
C) Offer my Fujikawa and Shields for his Shelby and one of his more established closers like Hanrahan or Grilli.

Thanks!

I would be fine doing the deal straight up or holding steady with what you have. It is a ten team league so SP should be available and Miller is far from a sure thing right now. Either one or both of these guys could be on the WW by June. Personally I would probably make the deal and keep an eye out for closers as the season progresses (Brewers and Detroit are good to keep an eye on right now).

Don't do a deal for a closer. Those two you mentioned as more established guys also have a decent shot at losing their job.

Definitely don't trade away Shields. Your pitching staff isn't strong enough for you to be weakening it in order to bring back a closer. Either play the waiver wire for potential closer candidates or trade your bench bats for closers.

Agreed that I need the pitching but I wanna believe in Shelby and Grey doesn't believe in Shields.

I left out Al Al from my lineup. To anyone, please let me know if this changes things in regards to Fuji for Shelby straight up. Thanks!
