King Felix for Castro+Altuve

Postby tgo0 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:13 pm

One of guys missed the draft and autodraft was no kind to him, now he's trying to make tons of deals. Most not great but this one had me interested.

I give: Starlin Castro + Jose Altuve

I receive: Felix Hernandez + Eric Aybar

I'm not in a major need of SP but getting a guy like Hernandez is always welcome. I'm pretty weak at middle infield though, Rutledge could maybe replace one of Castro/Altuve (has dual position) but I'm not sold on Aybar doing much. My team and format are in sig.

What do you guys think? Accept? Counter? Decline?

I think I might do that deal. Pretty tough though because you do take a step back in your MI. But I also like Felix and you could use one more SP IMO.

Nah. You have too many bench bats and not enough sp depth. You don't need 2 aces

I wouldn't do it. Felix is a stud, but I think that's too much to give up, and I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on Rutledge and Aybar for your middle infield. Your pitching staff is already pretty solid with Strasburg, Medlen, Cueto, and Parker in Grey's top 35 pitchers.

Aybar is virtually a lock for a ton of runs scored hitting second for the Angels. Honestly I think that a .280, 100 runs, around 10 HRs, and 20 SB's line is more than reasonable. He may even get 60 RBI hitting behind Trout. I don't think he's a problem by himself... The main problem I see is that him and Rutledge combined makes for a very risky MI.

I think you could certainly do worse than this, but you could also probably do better. If you really want Felix I'd pursue another train of thought.

I think if you make the deal the rest of the season you will be looking for ways to improve your MI, which of course is basically the hardest position to find a good player after the draft.

It's hard to say no to the king, but I think you have to.

Can you get him to take Castro plus one of your bench bats, I mean he isn't exactly trading from a position of strength?
