Gallardo/Romo Trade... how'd I do?

Postby raftman » Fri Mar 08, 2013 2:22 pm

16 Team H2H Dynasty League - Saves equal 7 points, Holds equal 5.
My team is in my signature.
How'd I do?

I gave up - Sergio Romo, Sean Doolittle, JR Graham, Kyle Kendrick
for

Yovani Gallardo (and I proceeded to pick up Jose Berrios, Tyler Glasnow, Mitchell Boggs).

I needed another SP, and I wanted to trade Romo while his value is high, as I'm not confident that he'll be a closer all season. Plus, with Holds getting 5 points and already have Grilli and Santos on my team (and picking up Boggs), I feel like I made up for the value loss.

Thoughts?

You got the best player in the deal, you traded away a relief pitcher to make it happen (a good one, but still an RP), you opened up roster spots to make some adds.

There is still a chance that Chapman is used as a closer but I'd bet he'll be an SP this season.

Boggs should get quite a few holds for you.

You found a need for your team and filled it. It was a good trade in my book.

What RPs did you choose Boggs over? What prospect Ps did you choose Berrios and Glasnow over?

You're completely right about Chapman, and that's kinda why I wanted another SP so badly - I figure this way, if he goes back to RP, I've got a stud RP, if not, then I've got another great SP. Win win (as long as he doesn't get hurt).

As for the players left on the board, it's a pretty deep league, so there isn't much to chose from.
Veras is still out there, along with Stephen Prior.
Minor league pitchers left, not really many worth mentioning.
