buy-low candidates based on my observations (general and seeing some of Grey's comments on here):
First list is for guys that owners might be getting tired of and/or might be undervalued for whatever reason....Second list involve pitchers that might have more risk...it would be good for forum readers to comment on who might have been left out...if someone deserves to be on another list?...hopefully Grey reads this...and others...would be good to start a new forum post me thinks
Buy Low: Anibal Sanchez John Lester Roy Halladay (maybe this long rest will have done him some good; not extreme buy low but you never know until you ask (his owner)) Cliff Lee (you own him...Great..this is for other readers) Yovani Gallardo (not really a big buy low, but he's been mediocre, might be undervalued by owner) A.J. Burnett (not a stud pitcher but has some tools, may be undervalued) Josh Johnson (not really buy low but may be undervalued C.C. Sabbathia (on DL, may be undervalued) Ian Kennedy (not sure how risky he is, but is underperforming, may be undervalued) Matt Moore (should have a better second half; is a big buy low for keeper leagues; may be undervalued) James Shields (may be undervalued) Brandon Morrow (on DL; can pitch complete games, which is maybe why he strained his oblique...lol...may be undervalued, or frustrated owner) Shawn Marcum: on DL; buyer beware; but keep the price reasonable
Buy Low (Risky) (some on this list have seen improvements, they are not necessarily buy low, but owners might give them away for little given the risks...can't buy really really low for some but don't give up too, too much)
Dan Haren (you gotta think there is a better pitcher living in his body somewhere; he's not a stud; but you might be able to get him for little)
Latos (buy low window may have closed, but who knows)
Lincecum (buy really, really low...he's not the Lincecum of old but might be worth the risk of acquiring)
Garza (hasn't been steady, but move to a good team to could give him run support)
Brandon McCarthy (on DL, might get traded, good pitcher, not a great pitcher; better run support might help)
James McDonald (Pirates are providing good run support, good pitcher; wouldn't give up much since he doesn't have a long track record)
Max Scherzer: where there is risk there may be some reward; has awesome stuff; but loses his head in some games; I traded him for Anibal
Adam Wainwright: before his last start, I would have put him on the top list
Yu Darvish: I'm not sold on Yu...but he has good run support...good K potential...walks too many...I wouldn't pay much for him...but might be worth the risk and the price for another owner with too many pitchers (if you can have that)
Ricky Romero: wouldn't pay much
