need an upgrade at shortstop

Postby Hebrew Hammer » Wed May 06, 2009 7:16 am

Grey and company--here is my squad

c-Martin
c-Suzuki
1b-Teixeira
2b-Kinsler
3b-Wright
ss-Aviles
ci-Jackson, C
mi-Johnson, K
of-Braun
of-Beltran
of-Hart
of-Cust
of-Daniel Murphy
u-Johnson, N

bench
Saltalamacchia
F. Sanchez
Taveras
Headley
B. Wood

Pitching
1-Lincecum
2-Wainwright
3-Jd. Weaver
4-Harang
5-Slowey
6-Nolasco
7-F. Cordero
8-Downs
9-Hoffman

RESERVES
Aardsma
G. Perkins
Madson

As you already know and have advised, Mike Aviles is awful.
I want to make a trade for a shorstop.
A team in my league has Peralta, Drew and Elvis Andus and is in need of everything.

my question is three-fold.

1. would you rather have Jhonny or S. Drew?

2. would you trade Suzuki and Harang for either one(i can replace kurt with salty; the owner needs an upgrade at catcher and suzuki is hot. he needs starting pitching very badly)

after the deal i plan on picking up dave bush

3. what do you think of dave bush for 09? i figure i can start him at home or during the day and perkins when he is at the dome for a platoon.

1. I'd go for Drew.

2. I would trade Suzuki for him.

3. Bush is very hard to trust. And Perkins is pretty bad in his own right.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

thanks grey. i'll go for drew

do you feel harang is a good candidate to trade among those starters?

other options (with my thoughts)
Wainwright--too good
Slowey--more reliable
Nolasco--too bad to trade right now
Weaver--i feel he' s turning the corner this year, 2006 style

Trade amongst what starters? What do you mean?

ok grey--this was the offer made to me...

Harang and Salty for Jhonny Peralta.

My biggest concern is trading Salty instead of Suzuki. What do you see from Kurt and Jarrod the rest of the way? I am ok with the silent H instead of Drew.

I would also be ok if i can wait this thing out a bit and get Harangman's start at Petco next week.

would you make this trade now?

How deep is this league? I'd try and lose Suzuki instead of Salty.

this is a 12 team mixed.

i know its early, but it seems as if there are five pretty good teams and then everyone else.

what do you think other that switching catchers?

I'd trade one of the catchers for Peralta -- I would not trade Harang too.
