Well you would be getting top-3 pitcher, playing on a good team (though not that good as of late). I would make the move but only if you have a plan to get a top-tier projected 3B.
You could make a move for Middlebrooks...I don't think it would be insulting to offer Weaver/Lawrie for Verlander/Middlebrooks...I do however think you should target Sandoval or Moustakas (in that order)...if no one has stashed Arenado might want to target him too.
Middlebrooks value will skyrocket if/when Youklis is traded.
