A guy in my league is after Darvish. He tried to offer Hosmer straight up but I said no.

Since we start outfield position specific I thought about offering this....

I give Justin Upton/Yu Darvish/Tim Hudson

I get Ryan Braun/Dan Haren


Sure Haren has sucked but maybe he'll stop sucking soon. Hudson is a throw in. I'm pretty deep at SP already. Braun would solve my LF hole for good and I could happily play Bruce in RF and Ortiz at Utility every day.

I think youre giving up too much

Really? How so. As it is, one of Bruce, Ortiz, or Upton needs to sit on my bench each day. This way instead of a stud sitting on my bench I've got a superstar in LF, a stud in RF, and a stud at Utility.

Without seeing my team/situation it may not look all that good, but insert Braun into my lineup and suddenly my offense looks pretty sexy.

I see your point, but I think you could get more back. I dont know what other pitchers he has, but Haren hasnt shown much of anything, and the difference between Upton and Braun does not equal Darvish.


I think you should ask for more, you may end up being stacked all over the place, but there is something to be said for having some depth and injuries happen, and you will have sold your trade bait early.

I dont know what place you are in in your league, but trading more for less usually only makes sense when you need a real lineup shuffle. I usually agree that the team that gets the bet player overall wins the trade, and so I get how you would be walking away with that, but I just think youre paying too much for him.
Its just my opinion though.
