The Justin Upton owner (who's team is in poor shape) reached out and said the he is available and perhaps Pence plus a another position player would get the trade done. Should I consider this? Would Pence/Lawrie be a fair offer?

I don't see a big difference between JUp and Pence. Definitely not a Lawrie difference. If you offered me that I would hit accept before we could get it canceled.

Upton is good for 10-20 more runs and 15 more steals. He may get a littile more hr/average, but he also may get a few less RBIs. No doubt he is better. But not a top 50 player better. I don't think I would include anyone in the top 100 to move up from Pence to JUp. I do like Pence and think Upton is an over-drafted 2nd rounder, but the difference is not there to warrant such a change.

If you trade Lawrie with Pence, you should get a CI back like Lind/Howard/Davis range. That would be the other option.
