Too much for Sparkakis?

Postby Frank Rizzo » Thu Apr 16, 2009 9:10 am

I'm considering offering a guy either Soria or Broxton and Jay Bruce for Markakis in my Yahoo 10 teamer.

He's got Valverde who hasn't done anything yet and I've got both Broxton and Soria, plus Francisco is sitting on the wire.

Bruce is just another of the future studs I have on my roster that are just killing my stats right now. (I'm rostering Bruce, Davis and Sandoval right now).

The steadiness of Markakis seems worth it to me since I'm getting a definite upgrade in RF, and I'm losing very little since I have too much at Closer already. If I'd add Markakis it would give me a Braun/Kemp/Sparkakis OF.

Don't know if he'd accept but maybe he's frustrated with his closer situation already.

Thoughts?

It's a bit much for Sparkakis.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Damn it. I was afraid you'd say that. It's just, I'm feeling buyers remorse for so many drags to my AVE and OPS in Bruce, Davis, and Sandoval. I'd love to get someone who won't be either hot or cold in my lineup. And really the closer situation means so little because I'm already playing matchup with them and being busted with the wrong one in there.

It's too much because I'd be helping him out too much or I'd be hurting my team overall too much? I'm not sure I see where my team doesn't get stronger in this potential deal.

Bruce can hit 20+ HRs, so can Markakis. Bruce can steal 10+ bags, so can Markakis. Markakis beats him in average and consistency. So for those two things you're paying with a top closer? I could see Qualls (or any lesser closer) and Bruce, but Broxton and Soria are top guys.

What happened today with Hawkins closing for Houston changed things.

How about an offer of....

I give Soria and Elijah Dukes.

I get Markakis.

If you can get Markakis with that, go for it. re: Valverde -- Think it was just a day off, not sure.
