Verlander McLouth for Sabathia

Postby mohr2427 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 6:39 am

I am in a 12 team keeper league where you keep 10-15 of your best players, no dollar values assigned. We have not done the draft yet. Another owner is probably going to do a deal where I trade McLouth and Verlander for Sabathia. I have depth at outfield with C. Lee, Beltran, and Granderson, but my only real good pitcher is Brandon Webb. I am just wondering what everybody thinks about this deal. My thinking is McLouth will have a very good season, just not quite on the level of 2008. Verlander seems to be a wild card, as I've heard good things about him so far and he certainly has talent, but I've seen his performance drop dramatically in the 2nd half the past few seasons. On the other hand, Sabathia is a potential Cy Young candidate again. My only worry with him are his innings.

Does anybody have any thoughts about this deal? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

It's a fair deal that you should do if you want, but I don't agree with your logic. McLouth shouldn't fall off from his 2008 and I don't think you need more top tiered pitching on top of Webb.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Thanks for the advice Grey. With McLouth my only thinking is that besides September the 2nd half of his 2008 season was subpar.
