I’m currently in a keeper league, this is the second year. The salary cap is $62,000,000. This is also a return yardage league. There is no limit on our keepers. 16 team league. 6 points for all TD, 25 passing yards per point, 10 rushing/receiving yards per point, 20 return yards per point. Below is a list of my current roster and their salaries for 2010. I have 2 spots to fill for our auction coming up this summer. I have $7,335,000 available to spend. Salaries increase by 30% if kept. Also, we can only keep players for 3 years (this is the 2nd year for all my players).

QB – Aaron Rodgers - $10,725,000
WR – Andre Johnson - $10,400,000
WR – Chad Ocho Cinco - $7,150,000
WR – Kenny Britt - $3,900,000
RB – Justin Forsett - $1,950,000
RB – Jamaal Charles - $5,200,000
TE – Brent Celek - $2,600,000
W/R – LeSean McCoy - $4,550,000
Q/W/R/T – Jerome Harrison - $1,300,000
BEN – Donald Brown - $2,600,000
BEN –
BEN –
K – Garrett Hartley - $1,300,000
DEF – Cincinnati - $2,340,000

The minimum bid per position is:
QB - $3,000,000
WR - $2,250,000
RB - $2,500,000
TE - $3,000,000
K - $1,500,000 (only 1 per team)
DEF - $3,000,000

Basically my strategy going into the auction is spend $2,250,000 on a flier WR and $5,085,000 on a QB.
FA QB (based on your rankings) are:
Kolb, McNabb, Henne, Bradford, Orton, Favre, Hasselbeck, Campbell, Garrard, Edwards, Delhomme, Leftwich. Ideally, I would like Henne. I believe Kolb and McNabb will go for more than I can afford.

Another idea I have is to make a move for a QB. I know an owner has made available Romo ($10,075,000)/Flacco ($7,150,000), and he could use an upgrade at any position. See anything I can offer that makes sense?

What do you recommend?

Out of those QB's I agree that Henne makes the most sense if you can't afford Kolb.

Since the guy has 2 good QB's and needs starters more than backups I could see making an offer for Flacco, but since he would become your backup I'd hate to see you lose a starter for him unless it was a fairly easy one to replace. Ocho's price tag is steep and would be nice to be able to use that elsewhere, but I'm guessing there aren't many good starters out there and I don't see him going for an Ocho/Flacco deal.

It looks like you have a solid core and grabbing a cheap, young QB with upside as your backup and the same at WR sounds like a good plan. It would be nice if you had a little more bench room for injuries and byes, but I guess everyone has that problem.

Good luck!

If I can give Ocho Cinco away for free at that salary to clear room up, would you?

What FA WR's are out there and how many guys would be looking to bid you up on acquiring one? I think OC is way overpriced for what he'll give you but I'm not sure on what you could potentially replace him with.

FA WR include:
Calvin Johnson
Moss
Colston
Dez Bryant
Welker
(CAR) Smith
Bowe
Boldin
Garcon
Golden Tate
Aromashodu
Demaryius Thomas
Breaston
Royal
Edwards
Arrelious Benn
Ward
Cotchery
Mike Williams
Jacoby Jones
Damian Williams
Floyd
Edelman
Antonio Bryant
Burleson
Evans
Hester
Santana Moss
Terrell Owens
LaFell
Houshmanzadeh
And basically everyone else ranked thereafter

About half the teams are in need of good quality WRs. I could send the excel spreadsheet with all teams keepers if you're really interested (salaries included).

If you could use that cash to get Megatron, Colston, Moss, Smith, Boldin, Garcon, Bowe or Dez if you're thinking long term, I'd go for it.
