I have recently been awarded with the first pick in the draft. This is my 6th ffootball season, and I have always drafted toward the end of the draft. I have done well there. I've won twice and missed the playoffs only once. But this #1 pick kinda scares me. I like the idea of owning peterson, but am unsure of my strategy following that. Its a ten team league. I thinking going RB/RB/WR in the first three picks. In one mock I was able to get Peterson/Portis/Westbrook. That would have been amazing two years ago but now I'm not sure that backfield would hold up. Should I be thinking to grab a Wayne, Jennings boldin type wr there anyway? its a long way back till i pick. Excuse me for rambling.
Also, are there any razzball leagues still open? I'm looking to join another league this year.

First Off I have a league I'm attempting to fill right now. Draft is on Sunday @ 2:15 pm. Lot of Razzballers in there. Join in!
League ID: 759977

Secondly is it PPR or not? That matters A LOT

First pick overall take any one of the elite backs and feel good about it. Honestly with those back to back picks at the end of the 2nd, beginning of the 3rd here's what I'd do:
1) Grab Peyton Manning if he falls that far. Feel very smart.
2) If Peyton's not there get yourself the 2 best WR on the board. I would not, under any circumstance, get a RB here. There are lot of great RB's that will be available in the mid/late rounds.
After that I'd just grab the best players available at each turn.

I've thought about taking a top qb there, but i have generally never taken a qb before rounds 5. I feel like I could go for the top two WR available, and still get a pretty good qb later. It is not a PPR league. Last year I one and I took a. rodgers and kurt warner in very, very late rounds. It worked out very well. I probably won't grab Peyton there, although I will think about it.

That would also definitely be a sound strategy. It's hard for me because I have an enormous man-crush on Peyton (he came through in the clutch last season and won me my league) so if it were me I wouldn't be able to pass him up at that draft position. I like to always think about the playoffs when I'm drafting and the thing that's a little scary about guys like Aaron Rodges is later in the year, home game @ Lambeau; not likely to produce for you. But your original point- that there are a lot of good QB's later in the draft, 100% right about that.
