Ha, thanks Assner! Strategy-wise, you want top end talent at the skill positions, obviously, in the first few rounds but guys such as Austin Collie, Davone Bess, and Danny Amendola become interesting late round wide receiver pickups. 8 receptions and 60 yards isn't exciting but it's useful depending on how deep your league is.
Your friend got a bit lucky. F-Jax and Lynch were out of nowhere players for 2011 and Lynch isn't that great for PPR settings. I'd still aim for an RB with the first 3 picks but wouldn't hesitate to take Calvin if I had the 4th. I'd have you take a look at my overall rankings to get a good idea of how I'd view the first two rounds:
http://football.razzball.com/updated-overall-rankings-2012-fantasy-footballAs far as late RB plays I'd be interested in this year, mid to late round value plays I like are guys such as Peyton Hillis, Michael Bush, Jazquizz Rodgers, C.J. Spiller, and Kevin Smith (climbing up the ranks). Don't know if you have a Lynch or F-Jax in that but they'll all be useful either way. Some ND guys I like: Taiwan Jones, Rashad Jennings (the ND is probably changing more and more every day), Kendall Hunter, and Le'Ron McClain. Hope that's enough food for thought!
