In 2010 we saw LaGarrette burst on to the fantasy football scene. In the final 10 games he gave us a stat line of 90.5 rushing yards, 5.02 YPR & .5 TD's.

A lot of hype was being directed towards one LaGarrette heading into the summer of 2011. Come August his ADP over at FFC sat at round 3.05(15th) RB off the board. Fast forward to the end of the year and we see a stat line of 781 rushing yards, 4.24 YPR & .31 TD's.

Then comes the 2012 NFL draft and the Tampa Bay Bucs trade up into the 1st round to select rookie RB Doug Martin. Doug Martin started shooting up the ADP chart and LaGarrette was going in the wrong direction. We saw Doug reach(still) all the way up to the 20th RB off the board. While fantasy owners were throwing LaGarrette to the curb.

Yes, Blount did not live up to his ADP last year. That being said he still ran for over 4 yards a pop and as of right now is running with the first team. If he can lock down the early carries with the goal-line work. We could be looking at a stat line of 150+ carries, 700+ total yards & ball park 5 TD's. Which could lend it's self to very low-end RB3 production in standard formats.

I know Doug Martin is the new toy in Tampa and everybody wants him. I am just trying to point out that come draft day the real value(fantasy) could be LaGarrette Blount in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield.

That is my take on LaGarrette Blount this year in terms of fantasy. Does the football(Razzball) community agree with me? Would like to read, what other posters or writers think of LaGarrette Blount and his prospects for 2012.

2 DUIs...assault charge...and a box of stickup...I mean stickum from his coach...

...he's a risk...can't hang onto the ball...not sure what round I'd take him in a draft...not thinking football yet...but he's a big risk...on and off the field...seems to hang around the wrong crowd, or rather have the wrong crowd hang around him..

...that being said, read this:

...let him slip in your draft but just enough, so that you can take him before your mates...he could be a force if his head is screwed on right this year.

I know people want to bring up the fumbling issue when talking about Blount. I would like to shine some light on the fact that Ben Tate had 175 carries and lost the football 4 times in 2011. Reggie Bush on only 216 carries lost the football four times as well. Yet, you don't here or read anything about his ball security issues.

As of right now over at FantasyFootballCalculator(FFC) we see that LaGarrette Blount is coming off the board in round 9.03(41st) RB off the board. That is the same area that I was looking to get a player like Brandon Jacobs on my fantasy team last summer.

thanks for the info...I'm not trying to compare Blount to Tate here...nor do I want to analyze things further...I won't be looking at football seriously until late summer...

...I did own Blount last year...on one team...it was frustrating...he had a few good games...even a gem or two...I recall him never coming through when you expected him too, let's say when the matchup was "right"...he also fumbled the ball a little right when you expected him to score soon, on a play or getting close the the goal...I could be wrong...

...I will say this...the Buc's team, and especially their offense, their QB, their receivers were a mess last year...wasn't hard to defenses to focus on Blount...it would be hard for most RBs in the league to perform well under such a situation...

...I'll say this...Blount does have need to focus more on football...on each play...the team...the Bucs obviously see his immense talent but they also see that he might need a little external pressure to perform better...

...we shall see how things go
