Berrian Value

Postby mtw02 » Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:09 am

So I have Berrian and the Rice owner wants him.

My QB situation isn't great (Kolb, Henne) so he's offering me:

Matt Ryan + (probably Lance Moore/Laurent Robinson) for Henne/Berrian.

Curious how valuable you guys see Berrian?

whether you'd do this deal if you were me.

It looks like a fair trade, and your getting the best player in it . But is berrian starting for you or is he a backup? Because Ryan will be your backup toKolb, so you shouldn't trade a starter for a bench guy.

I'd take that if it's a 2 QB league.. Matt Ryan ought to have a considerably better year than Henne; he has all of the offensive tools and the skills to be a very good fantasy QB.

Laurent Robinson looked good a few years ago in Atlanta as a rookie, but he's had injuries and lack of opportunity since then... He's slotted as the number one WR in St. Louis this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled down 600+ yards receiving and a handful of TD's. Berrian may very well do better than that, but Favre is getting older...

And honestly, I'd rather have Ryan than Kolb this year, too. Kolb has less than 900 career passing yards and a 4:7 career TD:INT ratio. Ryan has actually performed at the NFL level, but Kolb is unproven.

I'm guessing Berrian isn't a starter for you. He has value, but he's hit and miss. He can have huge games and then disappear. I think the trade is fair for you. I am much higher on Kolb because of his offense. Ryan is still in a run first offense, but he is a solid backup if Kolb just can't cut it.
Johnny Ringo: All right, 'lunger'. Let's do it.

True Berrian isn't a starter for me, though my WRs are thin after my top 3 (Fitz, Bowe, MSW). But I only have to start 2 WRs, and I have a few solid flex RBs to plug in.

So Berrian is expendable.

Would you guys ask for Lance Moore or Laurent Robinson in return (paired with Matt Ryan)?

(Note: Vikes just landed Camarillo from Miami....)
