PPR auction values

Postby microwave donut » Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:29 pm

My long running league decided to reinvent the wheel this year and changed up the scoring settings.

$200 auction. You only have to fill your starting lineup. After week 1, you can fill out your remaining roster spots via waiver process if you didn't come out of the auction full.

Fairly normal settings but 6 point passing TD's and -3 for an INT/FL. 1 PPR, no TE slot, it's a WR/TE instead. So it's QB, 2RB, 2WR, WR/TE, DST, K.

I'm pretty sure my 2 highest value players are going to be WR's with these settings. -3 for FL really hurts backs and I'm unlikely to pay the $70 it will likely cost for one of the top 4 anyways.

Valuations will be tough because it seems like there are only 5 or so TE's who should be starting anywhere. The rest of that money goes back into the pool. QB INT's are tough to predict, so I'm going to ding them too and not invest heavily there.

Is there a site out there that can give you auction values based on scoring settings?

Does the site you are using for the league give last years points based on this years settings? That would be where I would start so you can see where say a 100 catch TE fits amongst the WRs.

I don't know of any site that does that, but it seems like it should be out there somewhere.
Johnny Ringo: All right, 'lunger'. Let's do it.

I gave up trying to do heavy research, downed a couple shots of tequila and threw my money down

QB: Matt Schaub ($20)
RB: Maurice Jones Drew ($63)
RB: Steven Jackson ($31)
WR: Andre Johnson ($48)
WR: Marques Colston ($32)
WR/TE: Steve Breaston ($1)
K: David Akers ($1)
DST: Steelers ($1)

BN: Justin Forsett ($3)

I think I did ok. Obviously I went "studs and scrubs". I overpayed for Colston, but I got a good deal on Jackson. Breaston is kinda crappy, but there should be some decent stuff on waivers since it's only a 10 team.
