Hi all. First real year playing fantasy football after playing baseball for a couple years, and I have some questions for ya. I am in a 10 team league with some basic scoring settings, but there is one thing that concerns me, mandatory autodraft. I understand people are busy and stuff, but c'mon? I guess that's the drawback of doing a money league with your family. So how should I handle this situation?

First and foremost, I will tweak the ESPN pre-season rankings to a list that I feel is more correct.

This is the source of my questions, I can choose from the drop down list what position I want to be drafting in each round. Now I've read enough of your articles, Doc, to know that I will set to defense and kicker last, and RB first, but the in betweens is where I am a little nervous. If you want to link me to one of your strategy articles, or just offer up some words, I'd appreciate it.

There of course is no perfect way to autodraft, but I think you can be relatively safe going RB/WR/RB/WR/QB/RB/WR/ to get those starters. I think it's the best way to go just to make sure you get the most important positions filled.

Is the league ppr? Do you know what draft position you'll have?

It isn't PPR. I'm pretty sure it's pretty standard scoring and settings, but wouldn't really know otherwise.

And I'm not sure of the position I will have.
I considered ranking tier wise, and being able to use BPA for the entire draft, but that could end up badly.

Yeah, pretty standard. Since it's not ppr I'd feel good about setting your first pick for RB. With the randomness of autodrafts I think having a for sure position in each round really helps keep you from getting an out of balance team.

As if in an attempt to further muddle my draft plans, the draft order will not be revealed until one hour before the draft. Since all my autodraft strategy can only be edited until one hour before our draft, I won't be able to switch things up despite knowing my pick. My concern here is missing out on Andre Johnson if I have the 6th or 7th pick. Being in a 10 team league though, I think any of the first round RB's would at least be ownable, and should stick with RB first?

If you end up with a top 4 pick you most certainly want to go running back. Not worth the risk to go WR first unless you REALLY like Andre.

That's really tough, but I think you have to stick with RB since there are more RBs than WRs that you would want.

Not sure this is gonna get answered tonight because the draft is tomorrow at 5am, but in a league with 2 RB, 1 Flex and only 2 WR slots, would you open up RB/RB/WR/WR instead of RB/WR/RB/WR?
