Two Guys, One Plate

Got a good suggestion to add to our Glossary (http://razzball.com/fantasy-baseball-terms/)? Here's where to submit it...

Two Guys, One Plate

Postby BSUjam » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:48 am

When multiple players load up one position on your roster. Usually this is due to taking a flyer or someone and creating a deep roster. For example, when Dioner Navarro decided to become an all-star, that left me with McCann and Navarro. I was able to trade Navarro to someone who gambled on Towles! Hence, two guys one plate.

Eh, unless Rudy can talk me into it.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I'm with Grey, meh. But I think Two Chicks One Cup could be a funny entry, or to shorten it make it a verb like, awe man my team was "Cupchicked". Perhaps when your first player of the day in an afternoon game hits two dingers and then the rest of your team goes 1-30 with 22 KOs. Starts good; ends really, really shitty.

One of the most frustrating things -- Your team is 3-for-4 with two home runs through one afternoon game, then you don't look until the end of the day and your team is now 3-for-38 with 2 HRs and 2 RBIs. Damn, I've been cupchicked!

That's really funny, sucks no one would get it without some explanation and possible audio-visual cues.

Nice -- I do like turning into a verb. Way to explain it Grey.

Ok, Cupchicked is a little out there for me but how about...

Pulling a Gary Coleman - A night or a season where your team starts off great but is completely unproductive after that. Left with nostalgia and bitterness. Can also be used as a verb - e.g., Got a HR and a SB in the early game but my team Coleman'd the rest of the night.

As for having two guys in the same position...

Double D's- Being stacked in one position. They're a nice luxury to have but usually require a reduction to compensate for other weaknesses. E.g., I was Double D'd at 1B but had to downsize to fix up my busted staff.

alternate to Pulling a Gary Coleman...

Charbonooooo! - A night or a season where your team starts off great but goes completely downhill from there. Named after Indian Joe Charboneau who had a great rookie year but did nothing after that.
