Victor Martinez has progressed in his recovery from elbow surgery to the point he will begin to play catch next week, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Our View: This is favorable news, and he is on target to return to the Indians at some time in August.

Jusy saw this today.

Yeah, but unless he's sitting on waivers, I wouldn't go after him as a trade target.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

That's the thing he has been sitting on WW for 4 weeks, just trying to pick him up just at the right time so he's not pluggin' up my bench. It's either him or maybe Juan Pierre.

More news

I grabbed him a couple of days ago.

For when he returns in three weeks? A catcher who hasn't hit one home run all year? I hope you had space on your DL and you're not clogging up a bench spot.

He is on my DL. If someone else goes down, I may have to re-evaluate.

Someone actually just dropped him in my league. I'm thinking about getting him but I am not sure if i should use my number 3 waiver pick on him. I'd drop French for him and my current catcher is Yadier.

Thoughts?

I'd want V-Mart over Yadir. I think that's a good move.
