Earlier this week on Baseball Tonight, they showed this clip of a pitcher and an ump in a bit of a stare down. the pitcher didn't like the balls the ump was giving him. The ump threw one ball over his head, and another in the grass 10 feet ahead of him. The pitcher picked up the ball, looked at it....then rubbed dirt on it in the mound and threw it in for a new ball.

Does anyone know who this pitcher was? I can't figure this out, and i'm looking for a clip of it. any help (just a team name?) would be great.

it was Al Hrabosky, current color man for the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was a lefty reliever back in the day for KC and St Louis.

They called him the Mad Hungarian and after that clip I can surely see why.

He's now the color commentator during the Cardinal's broadcast. I used to see him play at old Busch. Before he would start to pitch the inning, he would step off the mound go through this ritual and harangue the ball...literally bitch at it...slam it in his glove and then begin pitching. The whole stadium would go crazy. He was a showstopper.

i was searching all pitchers born in the past 2-3 days on baseballreference.com. i only googled guys with atleast 500 or so IP. when i read his description i figured it was him, but cant find the video. if anyone can find the video of him and the ump throwing balls back and forth, ill....give you an internet high five.
