Major Leagues has better jokes but Bad News Bears is nominally about the human condition in a way that doesn't make you want to punch somebody in the throat, and that is an odd but true definition of greatness. Plus the Carmen Suite soundtrack is genius.

bad news bears in breaking training (astro dome one/with goofball william devane the only pockmark on the movie) is timeless. its regarded as the inferior sequel, but i recall it best from my youth.
major league is funny. but dated and unrealistic. still funny.
nothing with costner involved...please.
the Natural was filmed in my home town at a great AAA park--but i cant stand it.
i guess nothing really kills it besides the tearjerker from the 70s, (Bang The Drum Slowly).
there should be more and better baseball movies.
