My son's freaking awesome.

Postby Frank Rizzo » Tue May 17, 2011 9:39 am

6 years old, skinny little dude just like I was at his age.

Playing up in little league, instead of t ball, playing with 7 and 8 year olds.

They go one inning of kid pitch, then they switch to a machine pitcher.

He definitely did not get it from me but my kid has the sweetest, most effortless swing I've seen in a kid his age. And he's gotten his timing down now too.

And last week he pitched for the first time. 2 K's in a scoreless inning. And then he added 2 hits including a line drive triple up the middle that brought in 3 runs.

I like watching my kid play more than I ever remember enjoying the game when I played.

Just putting it out there.

That is all.

Probably, since they don't stay at one position but shuffle all around.

I'm guessing he's 3b, SS, 2B, 1B, OF, and C eligible. He's only pitched once.

I'd probably start him at either SS or C though, because of scarcity.

Make sure you put a lot of pressure on him so that he stops enjoying the game by the time he's ten. Remind him that whenever he fails, you're disappointed in him and a God that would curse you with such a useless son. Tell him you wish you were dead so you wouldn't have to be embarrassed.

Or not, either way, your kid.

Frickin kid usually K's once per game, giving away AB's. Still has a BA around .650 if I had to guess. Lots of RBI's. He'd have more if they didn't have 5 R per inning limits.

Played up because his cousins team needed bodies. Just turned 7 and he was playing with 9-10 year olds. Went 3 for 3 (3 singles), 1 SB, 1 game ending catch in the OF. He good. He good.
