ok, so i gotta keep 6 guys, no money involved although i would love to get that going in my league. how do you go about assigning values to guys and picking an arbitrary cap?
anyway, beyond the obvious, i'm really not sure who to keep, and i havent even decided if i'm gonna keep plowing away for a late playoff spot or trade some guys to try and upgrade a keeper spot. what you think grey?
12 team H2H, point totals, HRs triples doubles worth 4,3,2pts. RBIs, runs, singles worth 1 pt, steals 1.5, BB .5 and Ks -1
pitching-get 6 starts per week. each out is worth 1 pt,and Ks are worth 1pt. hits, ERs and walks worth -1. wins and saves are 5 pts. so a quality start and win will earn you like 18 to 25 pts, which is roughly equal to a solid week by a hitter.
this scoring system is quirky but it works. the guys in my league love it but i think i'd rather play roto, cuz it messes with guys worth some. i think slugging is definitely overvalued, but whatever.
ANYWAY, here's my team, i'm open to any and all suggestions
C Iannetta 1B Davis 2B Weeks 3B ARod SS Pheralta
OFs: Victorino, Beltran, Abreu, UT: M Joyce
SP: Johan, Haren, Baker, Parra, Guthrie, Gio
RP: Marte, Fr Cordero
DL: Jenks, Gallardo
$260 is the standard most use, but I've also used $300. $260 works the best from my experience. This way top guys go for about $40 and fliers go for about $1-$5. Most leagues also add $5 onto the price of a keeper or put a cap on the amount of time they can be held.
For keepers, I'd hold Arod, Johan, Beltran, Haren... Then you can take fliers on two fliers -- say Davis and Iannetta.
Or to get into the playoffs, I'd trade Haren and upgrade your Utility.
