Liriano

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

So...what's the word with Francisco Liriano? When are we going to see him? He has like a .26 ERA in his last 5 starts!

He was saying the Twins were being underhanded because they didn't want to bring him up so he wouldn't be a free agent sooner. He should be up by now.

Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.

If I'm the Twins, I don't bring him up until September. He'd most certainly be a Super2 guy if they brought him up before then. That's like $10-$12 million in savings for the Twins... not chump change for a small market team.

Pretty crappy though when guys like Pavano get big deals and Liriano is forced to throw in the minors. I think he has a serious grievance.

Yeah, I think the Twins lost any chance of signing him to a long term home team discount when his time is up.

Incidentally, it's his agent doing the bitching not Liriano, as agents are wont to do. Hope they get scared of the agent and bring him up, he'd look good on my RCL staff.

I'm sure Liriano's bitching to his agent.

He'd be interesting trade bait. If Rich Harden commands the bounty he did, why wouldn't a similar team that's drunk with WIN NOW do the same? Liriano on the Phillies, anyone? They'd have a filthy lefty combo there.

http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins ... tModules:2

I'm sure everyone's seen this article, in which La Velle E. Neal III (quite a name) concludes that the Twins are about to call up Liriano. However, I would just like to point out how in depth the reporting is. I quote, "Several people with knowledge of the situation have said over the past two days that it's time for Liriano to join the major league roster..." I assume that these people are EVERY FANTASY COMMENTATOR AND OWNER OF LIRIANO, as well as anyone involved in the Twins organization (besides Livan) and every Twins fan. I would go so far as to say that the sentence could be rewritten to read, "ANYONE with knowledge of the situation has said over the past two WEEKS that it's time for Liriano to join the major league roster..."

Sorry, just a little venting. I'm sure La Velle is a great dude. Its not him I'm perplexed by, though...
