Buy a GIO?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Excellent heads up. Google news doesn't even have it yet, but there it is on the Chronicle's site.

I'd really like to pick up Gio, partially out of faith in his K skills, and partially to make the next month more exciting, but I'm not sure if I have anyone that deserves to be dropped.

I've narrowed it down to: Ubaldo Jimenez, Scott Baker, and two Donkey-corns named Fuentes and Sherrill (I also have Broxton and Rivera, so I'm decent on saves). My other starters are: Sheets, Lackey, Verlander, Carmona, Peavy, Lester and Harang (DL).

My gut is telling me to go for it, but its also telling me to go take a swig from a bottle of Jameson in the cupboard. Should I go with my brain, which is telling me to let my lineup be?

Just as a note, chances are that Gio will perform well against the Jays, who are horrible against lefties (OPS of .685, second worst in MLB (to OAK)). So letting him get a game in before picking him up might not be that wise.

If Gio were to do well and get another couple starts, he would be a 2 starter the next week against TB and CWS, both of whom are in the bottom half of OPS v. lefties. Both games in OAK. So it could be a fun ride.

Yahoo has the ^ next to his name for tomorrow vs. Toronto. Guess this means he's starting.

Okay, so, I took the swig from the Jameson and now am considering dropping Carmona for Gio. Was Carmona's start today as horrendous as the box score led me to believe? I don't think anyone would pick him up in my league, but if they did and Gio was a bust I think Guthrie would still be available. Anyone's input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I got out of the Carmona Fat Train after his first start back from the DL. I didn't like him coming into the year, now with the injury -- eh. Try Gio against the Jays. Though it's risky too.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

After Izzy's adventures today, I'm considering using a starter tomorrow to try and ease my ratios. I've grabbed Gio. I know he's risky, but he's almost the best option from the available ones in my league isn't he?

Punt.

Yeah, Gio's the best of that lot. I wouldn't count on him to "ease your ratios." He's risky, ya know?

Yeah. I will prob just have to hope that my relievers can pull things back.
Mike G's scoreless inning shaved 3 runs off my Izzy-fied ERA as it is.
Izzy got me a Hold though! Its a crazy stat.
