He is a K machine who has been erratic in AAA. Is he a must add in deeper leagues should he get the call soon? With the Blanton trade today it seems he will be up pretty soon.

Can't imagine he is far off.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

LHP Gio González will get the call by the A’s to fill Blanton's spot. I really want to pick him up in case he’s as awesome as his 9.57 k/9 is advertised. Here are some of his numbers this year in AAA:

ip 110
k 117
era 4.34
whip 1.35
k/9 9.57
bb/9 4.34
k/bb 2.21
hr/9 0.98

Sacramento's stadium tends to be hitter friendly, so his MLE will likely take less of a blow with a move to Oakland.

Which one of these would be worthy of dropping for him here: Manny Corpas, Tyler Buchholz, Andy Sonnanstine or punt?.

How much do you need saves? How much do you need starters? I'd drop Sonnanstine or Corpas. I know he's in line if Fuentes gets traded, but Corpas wasn't that great last year. It was hidden by luck and saves.

I need saves more than starting pitching, so I guess I'll drop Andy.

Jul 17 Mychael Urban, of Athletics.MLB.com, reports the Oakland Athletics likely will recall SP Gio Gonzalez from Triple-A Sacramento.

I dropped Jo-Jo Reyes for him in one league. Jo-Jo was a matchups guy for me (his #s are much better on the road), but it was the last straw when he only lasted 4 innings in San Diego.

from Rotoworld--

"Athletics purchased the contract of LHP Lenny DiNardo from Triple-A Sacramento.
DiNardo will be available out of the pen tonight and could be the choice to replace Joe Blanton in Oakland's rotation. Dallas Braden is another option. Neither would be a very good bet in AL-only leagues."

Damm Doc

Way to be a harbinger of shitty news. Just added Gio in my money league.

Anybody think there's still a chance he gets a call up? I don't think Billy Beanecounter is done dealing.

I still think Gio gets the call, so I'm trying to figure out who goes from this list:
Haren
Baker
Galarraga
Sean Gallagher
Garza
Lowe
Billingsley
Lannan
Buchholz
Campillo
Sanchez

I suppose I could drop Beltre; he's on my bench anyway.

Thoughts?
